From cultxpt@primenet.com Sun Oct 29 12:27:25 GMT 1995 CoS's record of harassment against Jeff Jacobsen Scientologist's own scriptures tell them to harass their critics. Below is what I can remember has been done to me so far. Of course some of this may not be harassment but it indicates the mindset of the church. In Clearwater about 1991 I was touring the Scientology buildings. I tried to enter one (that turned out to be OSA headquarters) but the door was locked, so I went down to the Sandcastle hotel. As I was coming back up the hill from there, a guy in a Sea Org uniform and a woman were standing at the street light. The guy was pointing his telephoto camera lens down the street I was coming up. I first thought that this was a boring photo he was trying to take, then after he snapped some shots and ran away back toward the OSA building I figured out he was taking photos of me. I thought of following them and asking why he took photos of me but then I figured he wouldn't answer me anyway. I believe I was followed after that as well. Eugene Ingram visited my place of employment about 1993 inquiring about a person I knew. As soon as I recognized him I told him to buzz off. He knocked on my apartment door at midnight the next night, but I did not answer the door. At a CAN conference some church member must have listened in to a private conversation I was having at a bar, as this information was brought to my attention by a Scientologist at a later date. I don't want to say much more about that. JJ Gaw, a Scientology private investigator, called me pretending to be the brother of a Hare Krishna member. He wanted to get his brother deprogrammed right away. I explained that he should first study up on what a cult is and on what Hare Krishna is, then make an informed decision about what to do. The next day I discovered this concerned brother was actually a church PI because of the sloppy manner in which Gaw pulled this scam. I think the point was to prove that I was referring people to deprogrammers. In February '95 some of my posts asking questions about portions of the OT material were cancelled by the Cancelpoodle. About that time huheyniaman, an OTVIII, began posting strange posts about me. In March he emailed me; "I look constantly for your postings Jeffie, and I read every one of them, because you're breakfast for me, boy, you're my late-night snack. I would love nothing so much as to reply to you directly, sans anon remailer. I'd love nothing so much as to stand in front of you and laugh, or spit in your face. I'd love to eat you alive." After I posted that I knew who huheyniaman was, he disappeared. After the March 13, 1995 picket of the church here, Eugene Ingram showed up at my place of business and snapped some pictures of me. I asked him if he had a warrant for his arrest in Tampa and he lied "not anymore" then disappeared (I was working so I couldn't follow him). The next day he showed up at my sister's asking how much money I make. After that he hung out in my neighborhood but never tried to talk to me that I know of. Some days after Ingram had been around, my neighbor called me saying there had been 2 suspicious men in a car near my home for the past 2 hours. I went out to talk with them and asked if they were private investigators. They said no, although they later showed their PI licenses to a policeman. They had a cooler in the back seat, indicating they planned to stay for a while, but they left after the second policeman stopped and talked to them. One of these guys showed up at our next picket to videotape us. I was subpoenad about this time by a Scientology attorney to be deposed in a case I didn't even know anything about. The date for my deposition had to be changed and the church after that never made arrangements for me to be deposed. I consider this subpoena to have been harassment. Recently I heard of the church's attempt to limit my employer's ability to advertise itself in the community. On October 15 I was served to give a deposition in RTC v. Lerma and to bring all documents I have on Scientology, a.r.s., FACTNet, etc, etc. On October 20 I was deposed by Kendrick Moxon from 10am to 3pm without counsel as I had trouble getting representation in only 4 days notice. I brought my copies of the OT material that I had gotten off the net and anonymously through the mail. As I was leaving I asked for my floppy disc back. Moxon's assistant refused to return it to me because it contained OT material. Then he demanded that I turn over my hard copy as well. I refused and turned to leave. Moxon's assistant yelled at me "we will raid you and sue you; you are on notice!" Again some of the above may not be harassment, but I believe it is a window into how the church thinks. -- ////// Jeff Jacobsen SP4, Scientology critic PO Box 3541 ftp.primenet.com /users/c/cultxpt Scottsdale AZ 85271 http://www.xnet.com/~can/can.html USA Scientology has raided 4 critics' homes!!!
